Just 3 games to look at for Sunday 30th October as we have action from the Premier League and Championship. Arsenal, Liverpool & Manchester City secured big wins today to keep the pressure on the teams below so Everton and Chelsea will both be looking to secure wins in their respective matches.
Everton welcome West Ham United in the early kick off at Goodison Park. Everton started the season in fine form under Ronald Koeman but recently found the going tough as they are currently on a FIVE game winless run in all competitions. However, don’t let this distract you from the unbeaten home record they have enjoyed in the Premier League this season. West Ham on the other hand enjoyed a terrible start to this year’s campaign by managing only 1 win in their first 7 matches. More recently though they have won 3 on the bounce so should give the Toffees a good run for their money.
The 2nd match in the Premier League sees Chelsea travel to Southampton with both teams looking to play catch up with the current top 4. The Saints have a great record at St Mary’s and haven’t lost there since February 2016 which coincidentally was a 2-1 loss to Chelsea. Southampton have however won their last 5 with only 1 goal conceded so Chelsea will have to play well to beat them. Despite 2 losses to Liverpool and Arsenal in consecutive games, Chelsea have had a great start to the season and are currently on a 3 game winning streak in the league. Apart from the 3-0 loss to Arsenal they have scored in every away game in the Premier League since April so a goal for the Blues is definitely on the cards.
The sole Championship match is the first West Midlands derby of the season between Birmingham and Aston Villa. With Steve Bruce now at the helm for Villa they will be confident they can nick something against a strong home side in Birmingham. There should certainly be goals in this juicy encounter.
