Nov 1: Scottish Football Preview

We have some Tuesday night Scottish football action in the Scottish Championship as Greenock Morton welcome bottom club St Mirren. There is also a Scottish FA Cup fixture as two League Two sides go head to head for the 2nd time in 3 days.

Morton have been in good form lately winning 4 of their last 5 Championship games with a couple of notable scalps in Raith Rovers (1-0) and Queen of the South (5-0). Sandwiched in this good run was a cup semi final against Aberdeen which they eventually lost 2-0 but did put up a good fight holding the Dons until mid way through the 2nd half. Morton’s home form has been good as they are currently unbeaten in their 5 games so far, winning 3 of them. St Mirren are bottom of the Championship and are winless away from home. Their biggest problem on the road is their leaky defence which has conceded 11 goals so far from their 5 away games. An in-form Morton side should be able to find the net in this fixture.

The Scottish FA Cup match sees Forfar Athletic face newly promoted Edinburgh City in this League Two top vs. bottom clash. The 2 sides met in the league on Saturday and played out a 1-1 draw after Edinburgh took the lead early on just to be pegged back in the 2nd half. However, you have to fancy Forfar to win this one as they are on home turf again. Not enough value on a home win for me though.
