Friday 15th April
It’s Friday night so this means it’s Irish football night! Plenty of games to look at in the Premier Division and First Division as both leagues start to take shape after the winter break. There are also a couple of English games in the Championship as the season end draws ever closer but i can’t see any value in either as home wins for Brighton and Hull City are expected.
In Ireland, Irish Premier Division leaders and champions Dundalk host a struggling Sligo Rovers at Oriel Park. As expected there is little value in picking Dundalk for the win with even a -1 Asian Handicap only reaching around 1.40 in odds. Your best bet here is going for goals with ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ coming up at around 1.70 and ‘Over 3 Goals’ on the Asian Handicap going over EVENS at 2.10.
Galway United are the surprise package of the season so far currently sitting in 3rd place. They have already beaten St Pat’s this season and face Cork City at home on Friday night. Cork are one of the top teams in Ireland but have made an average start to the season so far, currently sat in 6th place. Galway to win with a 0 Asian Handicap is 3.80 and i think there is some value in this bet.
In the First Division the runaway leaders don’t play until Saturday but should record another big win against Cabinteely who were the bottom side last season. Limerick have so far scored just the 28 goals from their 6 league matches!! A nice average of nearly 5 goals a game. They could easily knock 4 or more past a poor Cabinteely side who are currently 2nd from bottom.
However, my best tip is in the Waterford vs. Shelbourne game. Waterford have seen 25 goals from their 6 league games so far so another game going over the magic 2.5 goal mark is likely, especially as Shelbourne have seen 19 goals from their 6 games so far. In addition, both sides have scored/conceded 13 goals in their last 3 matches.
